ATPA POSITION PAPER - 'Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging'
This position paper advocates for the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the toy and play industry. The paper argues that manufacturers and producers must take greater responsibility for the end-of-life management of their products and packaging, including the proper disposal and recycling of toys and other play products. Under EPR, producers are responsible for the entire life cycle of their products, from production to disposal. This includes the cost of collecting, recycling, and disposing of waste products and packaging. By implementing EPR, ATPA believes the toy and play industry can reduce its environmental impact and promote a circular economy. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PAPER
